Moral Sources of Islamic Fundamentalism and Axel Honneth’s Concept of “The Struggle for Recognition”

Abstract

The objective o f the paper is to present the moral sources of the phenomena of Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism. The analysis is supported by the concept and critique o f social development by Axel Honneth. As stated in the title, the description of the mechanisms of “the struggle for recognition” is used to outline psychological and ethical motives of actions arising from the relationship between the West and the Arab World.
