Abstract

The aim of this article is to answer the following question: is media sociology possible as the real scientific discipline (subdiscipline) or not? In practice and theory there are several admissible solutions and answers to the question. However, research in this field and university status is conclusive, although the scope of the problem is extensive and complex. Most of the research focuses on the relationship between the media and the public with particular attention to the influence of mass media. The author considers that there are two important questions: what do people do with the media and what does the media do with people?
