Abstract

The author deals with the issue of entertainment programmes broadcast by commercial
radio stations. Her aim is to define the features that are specific for that kind of production
and to analyse the role of the presenter in programmes intended for amusement.
The style of the speakers, the language they use and the character of the relationship
between broadcasters and listeners is analysed.
