The aim of the article is to attempt to characterize the direction of the Roman Catholic Church’s self-reformation in the context of a culture of pluralism. The paper’s introduction presents features of the pluralism culture. Then synods and bishop conferences are discussed as two selected sections of the Church. They are characterized in the context of the Tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, with particular emphasis on the teaching of the Second Vatican Council, as well as the ongoing discussion by the American theologians. The research source is a monograph (2009) by Jan Perszon Ecclesia semper reformanda? Kolegialność Kościoła w posoborowej eklezjologii amerykańskiej [English version of the monograph’s title: Ecclesia semper reformanda? Collegiality of the Church in Post-conciliar American Ecclesiology], and papers published after 2009th. These publications are selected documents of the Roman Catholic Church and comments to them within the framework of American ecclesiology.
