Anatomical Spectacle as a Modern Theatrilization of Death

Abstract

Anatomical theatre in XVII century is a spectacle where political authorities, arising medicine and the darkest lusts of the populace were gripping. Death bare by anatomy of a dead body, death disacralisated by a corpse’s stomach cut up, that is the source of a modern debate where a human body is getting a subject of a discerning observation and an institutionalical control.
