Abstract

Last ten years have shown the renascence of geopolitical thinking, including Russian geopolitics. The work of Dugin Geopolitics Foundations. Geopolitical Future o f Russia concerns the idea of restauration of Russian empire based on traditional geopolitical concepts oppossing land powers to sea ones. Dugin refers also to the traditions of Russian geopolitics, especially Euroasiatic school and to the theory of ethnogenetic of L. Gumilov. His concept is inspired by Rusian imperialism and mysticism. Outdated scientific methods and influence of religions mysticism seriously question scientific value of Dugin’s theory. It is however a good picture of chaos and crisis of contemporary Russian social sciences.
