Abstract

The article focuses on the ethical aspect of Michael Foucault’s philosophy. I try to link his project, which consist of anesthetization of ethics, with the ensemble of achievements the French philosopher. Partly it is a record of the evolution of thought and postulates and partly a wish to demonstrate the qualitative change in late Foucault’s works. In considerations on anesthetization of ethics I’ve chosen the dispute which the philosopher started with Kant and the Enlightenment project. The contemplation of the question of the present constitutes the basis of deliberations. The background is made up of inspirations and influences of the philosophy of ancient Greece, the Age of Enlightenment, the twentieth century dandyism as well as implied by me camp cultural strategy.
