The Problem of Consciousness with Animals - Philosophical and Ethical Aspects

Abstract

The newest investigations over functioning with animals mind brought to putting question: do animals possess consciousness? Many premises show, it that was can not this exclude. It accepting these premises induced some philosophers to verified animals’ traditional status in philosophy and ethics. The criticism subjected became especially the ethical conceptions, which switched off animals from moral uniwersum, with reason refusing them possession of any forms of consciousness or even the ability of feeling.
