The text presents a number of issues and corresponding questions concerning the area of, so called, ‘ecological values’, which according to the author’s opinions, have not gained a sufficient amount of interpretation within the sphere of the presently developing philosophy of ecology. The contradictory views on the nature of the ecological problems, easily noticeable in various ways of describing the causes of the ecological crisis as well as the rules of interpretation, undetermine the accuracy of the previously carried out analyses. They may have a negative influence on the ways of overcoming the crisis and on the shaping of ecological consciousness advocated by ecophilosophers. The main goal of ecophilosophy is to reach agreement in various fields, including philosophy, which are crucial for the development of this branch of knowledge.
