The paper places emphasis on a socjological concept of Spanish ratiovitalists — J. Ortega y Gasset and J. Marias — aimed at formulating the sociology of science. This question is presented in the light of relations between ratiovitalism and phenomenology as, according to the author, the latter played an important role in shaping the philosophy in question. In the pa-per the links between theoretical attitudes of ratiovitalism and phenomenology towards social and cultural phenomena are stressed. Those links reveal, among others, in eidetic and personalistic perception of the above phenomena, as well as in perceiving them as factors influencing creation of the human world and its further cognition. The paper also presents the formulated by ratiovitalists notion of social structure, together with the rule of its changeability reflected in the changeability of human cognition. An attempt to define theoretical values of disscused ideas was made as well.
