Feuerbach - Stirner: The Contestation about Man’s Conception.

Ewa Starzyńska-Kościuszko

Abstract

The starting - point of Feuerbach’s and Stirner’s philosophy was the critique of Hegel’s views, including his spiritual definition of a man. Carrying on a controversy with Hegel’s metaphysical conception, Feuerbach and Stirner will try to find a new definition of a man. In these researches Hegel’s Christian conception of a man will be replaced by Feuerbach's laic humanism or by antitheological and antihumanistic humanism of Stirner. United in their critique of Hegel, however Feuerbach and Stirner differed in theirs deeper opinions and this important disagreement will be the topic of my article.
