Connexion between Nature, History and Morality in Herder's Philosophy of History

Abstract

In the article I present most important ideas of Herders philosophy of history, namely the problem of natural relations between the history, nature and morality. Historical views of Herder were formed in the course of polemics with Enlightenents philosophy of history. He repudiated the linear conception of the progress. Enlightenments optimism and rationalism. In his interpretation history, nature and morality (aspiration for humanism) are formulated as inseparable parts of one totality
