Protection of children and young employees labour on the Polish labour market
Abstract
One of the main goals of the International Labor Organization established after World War I is to fight with the exploitation of children for work. This problem has existed in the world since the beginning of history, but it was noticed only during the industrial revolution. Numerous international conventions signed under the auspices of the ILO have led to the establishment of a minimum age at which work can be undertaken. By ratifying ILO Convention No. 138, European Social Charter and Council Directive No. 94/33 / EC, Poland has committed itself to guarantee a legal ban on child employment. The Constitution of the Republic of Poland states that the employment of persons under 16 for permanent work is prohibited. The purpose of this article is to present legal opportunities for children and young people to work under current legal provisions in Poland.
