The following text discusses the book Duties of a person and a citizen in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of 1997 edited by Artur Trubalski. Since in recent years academic scholars have focused on constitutional rights
and freedoms, it is worth noticing this awaited and actual study. The book consists of six chapters that cover all duties included in the Constitution of Poland. Taking the opportunity, the following review undertakes some issues
that have not been considered by the authors of this book, i.e., a doctrinal justification of constitutional duties and the scope of the duties in contemporary European constitutions
