The climate of the existing and future health resorts in Poland – selected issues
Abstract
The development of civilization, as well as the surrounding atmospheric environment, has a positive or negative impact on society. This situation affects the search for places with favourable health conditions. There are separate
areas on the map of Poland that are health-promoting and pro-ecological in nature. These are health resorts. The aim of the article is to analyze and evaluate legal regulations relating to the climate in the health resort. A basic conceptual framework regarding health resort issues is presented. The considerations were based on research on the actions taken by the commune to
obtain or maintain the status of a health resort, with particular emphasis on climate issues. The next issue is the role and importance of climate in the context of various aspects and components of the health resort status model adopted in the Polish legal system. Moreover, the government program providing support for health resort communes, which is a response to ongoing
climate change, was also discussed, both in terms of adapting to climate change and limiting climate change. The conclusions assume that a commune, which is obliged to prepare a health resort report, an integral part of which is the research carried out by authorized units and necessary to determine the therapeutic properties of the climate, despite the costs associated with it, undertakes several activities to obtain or maintain the status of a health resort. However, the problem is the ambiguous criteria for determining the medicinal properties of the climate. The program supporting health resort communes in the field of pro-ecological climate investments is assessed positively.
