The work is concerned with landscape issues connected with the presence of a river within the spatial structure of the city. The executed analysis determines and estimates landscape - view relations taking place in areas of the city and river infiltrating one another. The character of the relations arises from differentiated natural conditions and changeable cultural background, constituing urban settings of the river current and its nearest surrounding. Analysing possibilities of landscape interiors perceptions being formed, the river - bed has been doubly treated - as an element of a passive exposure (the river being observed from the city area) and as an element of an active exposure (observation being made from the perspective of the river and its banks). This allowed to examine created relations and landscape connections multidirectionally.
