European Integration as Seen by Students of the Agricultural University in Olsztyn

Abstract

Results of the survey covering students of the Agricultural University of Olsztyn are presented in this article. The study focused on opinion of the investigated population on the issue of Poland’s integration within the structure of E.U. Respondents were asked to define development potentials and threats of Poland’s integration, basic sources of information about the E.U., appropriate term of the accession and advisability of probable interim period for agriculture. They expressed their opinions concerning prospects of Polish culture in the framework of united Europe, European citizenship and a vision of Europe of their future. Respondent’s views concerning economic transformation undergoing in Poland since 1989 is outlined in the latter part of the article. The relationships between degree of support given to European integration and place of residence, social status and family incomes, kind of studies, sex and political convictions are defined.
