Abstract

The author points both mutual and disparate components between ethics and religion. The author also mentions the antinomies from Hartmann’s Ethics. The first o f them is focusing ethics on earthly goods, while religion is focused on eternal reality. The next one is that in ethics it is the human who is the most important, while in religion this is God, as the bearer of moral principles. The third one is a contradiction between the ethic standards and the Ten Commandments. Ethics, as a branch o f philosophy that is autonomous from religion, is a manifestation o f human maturity. God as the supreme moral standard is contradictory to the concept of ethic values.
